Headed to Italy

The kids are so excited to spend 2 weeks at their grandparents, and we are excited to get outta town!

Here we are at the airport getting ready to fly to Europe for a 9 day Mediterranean cruise. First stop - Rome! We are going an extra day early to get ourselves over the jet lag. The flight was uneventful and we landed in Roma at 9am, dropped our bags at the hotel room, and headed our for a stroll to some of our favorite spots.

First stop, the Spanish Steps!

Second stop, Trevi Fountain! The last time we were here they were cleaning and restoring the marble so it was nice to see it without all the renovations going on.

A stop at a little pizzeria for vino and pizza. And of course people watching!

We headed back to the hotel for a quick siesta. Just what we needed! Woke up refreshed and headed back out to the Pantheon.

Next stop, the Pantheon! Hard to believe it is almost 2,000 years old, but of course everything in Rome is old!

Dinner at Piazza Navona!

Happy guy with his gelato!

A gorgeous evening to enjoy the fountain and the views. Looking forward to a good nights rest!
