Play set Surprise

Those of you who have visited our old house on Heidi Place may recall the time 3 years ago when we built a play set. We bought it from Costco and hauled it home in the 4Runner. Eric invited some friends over and started assembling the playhouse structure in our garage. When it got too big/heavy we moved it out to the yard. One night when Eric was out of town I assembled the slide in our living room while watching Blade Runner (I'm not sure why I remember that little detail.) Several weeks and many many many hours later, it was finished. We then built a frame and filled it in with wood chips. It was a lovely playset that we enjoyed for 2 years until we moved.

Fast forward to last month when we decided it was time to get a play set at the new house. The neighborhood has a nice play ground but it's a little walk from the house, and we wanted something the kids could play on in the evenings and with friends. We spent some time shopping around but ended up back at reliable Costco. This time they didn't have them in stock (end of summer) so we ordered it online and had it delivered right to the door for free. No hauling it around in the 4Runner. Then, seeing as how my DH has been working 70 hours a week, we made the intelligent decision to pay someone else to install the play set.

Now enter Elite Installation. They came to the house with 2 guys, and in less than 4 hours completed the play set from start to finish. They even leveled it, which was quite important since our yard has a fairly significant slope on one side and we didn't want the whole thing to fall over when Ainsley swings too high. See installation progression below.

DONE!

Now to the even better part of the story. We never told the kids that we were putting up a play set. The boxes have been sitting in the garage for two weeks but they never asked what they were. So when the kids got home tonight we took them outside and...Surprise!

Priceless.
