Ayres Family Reunion

The second weekend we were at the lake we held the Ayres family reunion. We had missed the reunion six years earlier due to a wedding, so this was the first time Eric had met some of that (distant) side of the family. My cousins were both there, which was so fun since we don't get to see them often. Mary is quite a photographer, and she captured some great moments from the weekend (I would love to take credit for the photos below, but if you compare them to my normal pictures you can clearly tell that I didn't take them!) My cousin Kathy, her husband George, and their two daughters, Julia (9) and Clara (6) were also there. Ainsley gets 99% of her wardrobe passed down from these two beauties, and she is always excited when she can spend time with them. Clara and Ainsley hit it off especially well, being so close in age, while Julia played mom to the kids and babysitter to Parker.  What a fun weekend!

The girls looked for 'buried treasure' in the rocks.

Dixie (left) and Lila (right) - two peas in a pod (or, more appropriately, two dogs in a lake).

Beautiful view through the woods to the lake.

Roasting marshmallows!

Ainsley was so excited to have some swimming buddies!

Our little heart breaker.

Mom and Dad had a tent set up by the lake - a beautiful setting on a gorgeous day!

The girls finally convinced someone to take them out in the row boat.

Friday night dinner with my aunt, uncle, and cousins

Another great fireworks show by my DH.

One more Ranger ride!

Our little water bug

Cousins!!

Entertaining Dixie with rocks.

 Yummy lunch!

It's hard to keep track of this many people...

You never know what'll show up at a family reunion!

A much-needed break.

Our immediate family (minus Parker, who was napping)
